Deja Vu
This title reminds me a lot about The Matrix. One of the scenes in The Matrix uses this concept. When a black cat, while shaking its body, walks past Neo twice in quick succession, Neo says “Woah, a Deja Vu.”, to which Trinity responds “What did you say?”. ” A Deja Vu.” says Neo. “A black cat passes me, and another one passes me again that looks exactly like the first cat.” And Trinity responds, “Was it the same cat? Was it looks exactly like the first one?”. And then Neo says, ….Naaa, if you wanna know go watch the movie yourself. It gets a little bit complicated if I continue.
Anyway, I’ve had my own Deja Vus. Well, that is worth another post which I will probably tell you all about it later. But for now, I just wanted to make a review about the kinda latest movie starring Denzel Washington, which is called, obviously, Deja Vu. So let’s get to the review shall we.
Firstly, it is a detective movie. Kinda expected when Denzel is the main cast. And its a lot about USA super-modern-expose-your-privacy technology. They have satellite videos just like Google Earth, but only it is in real time. And it can zoom in as close as you can imagine, and can also rotate or move in any way you desire. So, the story is based on an explosion that occurs on the ship which killed hundreds of people. So the detective get started on the case. While solving, they use this satellite to help track down the criminal on the ship, before it blows. So, basically they have a free zooming camera that can literally move anyway they like in the ship, before it blows! So they move about inside the ship searching for suspicious character. There’s a catch, the camera is always 4 hours late.
**SPOILER ALERT**SPOILER STARTS HERE**
It turns out to be that the satellite video, is not a satellite video after all, all of the videos are from the past! And you can travel back to the past by using that machine. (Back to the Future, anyone?) It is basically a time travel machine, which outputs everything on a screen. And you can interact with the screen as well! Its hard to explain, but the simple explanation would be, you watch a movie, the movie is about what you did 4 hours ago, and you can interact with yourself directly from the screen. Weird? It gets better. Denzel actually goes back to the past, saves everyone else from the bombing, but except himself. He got killed in the past. But yet, in that past, he still exist! There we see, Denzel in that time, walking calmly, but at the same time, the future Denzel got killed in that time. There are two Denzels in one particular time, one from the past, and one from the future, the future one got killed in that past. That should create a time confusion that could lead to world destruction! But it is a science fiction story after all.
**SPOILER ENDS HERE**
It is actually not expected that the satellite images is like that. Thus, the rating drops drastically after I learn the truth about that satellite. Nevertheless, because of the exciting storyline, it manages to obtain quite a high rating from me. Hey, at least it is better than Cicak-Man.

Eragon
This title reminded me too, but to a different movie, Lord of The Rings(LOTR). Eragon reminded me to the Aragon character in LOTR. His full name is Aragon son of Arathon. The pronunciation is almost the same for both names, but the character’s attitude is highly different. So, the movie is about Eragon becoming a dragon rider. Hmmmm, yeah. Yups, that’s it. That’s about it. This review is as simple as the storyline. Nothing spectacular happened, except for a few breathtaking scenes featuring the dragon. The story is short, fast and simple. Nothing grand like LOTR. No climax, and no spoiler that can be told. But of course, it is still entertaining. A simple rating for a simple movie.
